Now, before anyone assumes this is a problem with your humble programmer, I want to point out that if I turn off Desktop Composition for the application, it works fine. Once again, with Desktop Composition turned off, all these problems go away, but this is not really a long term option for us.

I the current Beta1, you will have to turn off desktop composition beforehand. Possibly, loading the mirror driver will do the turn-off in the future. As of today, an XPDM display driver will force desktop composition to be always OFF. However, you can turn OFF desktop composition with an LDDM driver.

I have WDDM drivers, a GeForce 7800 GTX, all visual options enabled (so I have Aero Glass, desktop composition, etc.). I'm using the latest NVIDIA drivers from Windows Update. In Word/Excel/Powerpoint 2007, the Live Preview option is greyed out and unticked. I can't enable it, and it's not enabled by itself.

The only thing that needs doing (but then VB6 has exactly the same problem on my specific Vista machine) is that you need to set the properties of the VB IDE shortcut and place a tick in the "disable desktop composition" item under the "Compatibility" tab, otherwise the IDE cannot cope very well when you drop
